practices.  In this session we will focus on syllable types.  Multisensory reading instruction
advocates that students can decode any word if they are taught the syllable types and how to
divide multisyllable words. These skills are essential for reading at all levels, including high
school.

Participants will:
1. Learn 6 syllable types and their multisensory supports to see and decode syllable types
2. Learn 4 syllable division patterns and the multisensory instruction of syllable division as
it leads to decoding
3. Learn about additional resources for learning about instruction of syllable types and
syllable division.
