A Workshop and Conversation:  Introduction to Google Gemini for Education and Stackable AI Credentials for Higher Education Faculty.  In the 11:30 workshop session, participants will explore how this new era of generative technology can help handle the ‘heavy lifting’ of instructional design, allowing you to scale the best practices you already value. To do this, participants will be introduced to a personal AI assistant for teaching and learning: Gemini for Education.  Participants will work through the a few learning scenarios. At the end of the presentation, participants will be invited to take a short quiz to earn a completion badge/micro-credential .  At the same time as some take the quiz, we will launch A Beginning Conversation with Dr. Julie Tonsing-Meyer, McKendree University. During this time, we’ll begin to talk about some of the questions our Technology Task Force has raised including: Where We Are Now? AI in Teacher Preparation.  Dr. Meyer will lead the conversation with her experiences in teacher preparation.  Please be ready to join in and share:

• • How has your institution’s approach to AI and emerging technologies changed over the past year?
  • Where and how is AI currently being integrated into educator preparation coursework and clinical experiences?
  • What have you tried that has worked particularly well? What has not worked?

The Task Force on Special Education will meet at 2:00 to look at their data and analysis and begin writing to publish.

 

 

 

 

The Numeracy Task Force is building a Padlet of resources for teaching math using the new Illinois Numeracy Plan as a framework.

 

The Literacy Task Force continues its work on the Illinois Comprehensive Literacy Plan with a focus on EPP alignment to the Literacy Plan using the ISBE Self-Assessment Tool as their guide.
